Attendance

I am absolutely delighted to report that we have received a National School Attendance Award for being in the top 25% of all FFT Secondary Schools in England.  This is a tremendous achievement by the attendance team and all staff who have supported getting students into College since the pandemic.

I would also like to thank you as parents for your ongoing support with attendance and for reiterating the Collingwood message that ‘every school day counts.’

Change to Uniform from September 2023

Following feedback from parents and carers last Autumn, I have decided from September 2023 to offer flexibility for you to purchase more affordable alternatives to our current trousers and skirts. Therefore, with the exception of the College jumper, College polo shirts and some items of PE kit (as per our Uniform Policy on our website and Edulink), all items of College uniform can be purchased without a College logo.

To maintain our consistent high standards of uniform across the College you will have received my letter today containing details of the suppliers that acceptable items of uniform can be purchased from for September 2023.  Of course, logoed trousers and skirts are still acceptable, and our suppliers of branded uniform items will continue to stock our preferred unbranded trousers and skirts.

For this summer term, the College’s preferred unbranded uniform shorts (not PE kit) may be worn as our suppliers do not have any branded shorts available.

I hope these changes will provide some welcome flexibility with certain items of uniform that is particularly helpful given the current financial pressures families are facing.

Sports Day

It was wonderful to see so many of you supporting our Sports Day event last week at Bracknell Athletics Ground.  As always, I am grateful to Mr Beer, Head of Department, and the PE Department for organising a superb evening and also, to all the staff who supported this event and made everything run so smoothly.  It was wonderful to see so many students participating in several events and supportive spectators cheering them on.  Another great community event with all the College values being promoted!

Hot Weather

As the temperatures are rising can I remind you to support us with our ‘ready to learn’ strategy I wrote to you about a couple of weeks ago to encourage all our students to be organised and ‘ready to learn’ and this may include bringing two bottles of water with them.  Of course they can refill them  during social times but not in lesson time!
