Robot Wars

The Robot Wars team at Collingwood gives students the chance to dive into the exciting world of robotics and competitive engineering. Inspired by the iconic television series, the club challenges students to design, build and battle their own combat robots - combining technical skill with creativity, strategy and teamwork.

Design. Build. Battle.

From initial sketches to full-scale arena battles, students take the lead in every stage of the process. Working collaboratively, they:

  • Design innovative robots using CAD and prototyping tools
  • Engineer mechanical and electrical systems for speed, strength and control
  • Test, refine and adapt their creations for real-world performance

These hands-on experiences provide a powerful introduction to STEM fields, helping students develop practical skills in engineering, electronics and design that are directly relevant to future careers in science and technology.

Success on the national stage

Collingwood’s Robot Wars teams have earned a strong reputation in regional and national competitions, known for their ingenuity, resilience and sportsmanship. Their success has even led to appearances on television, giving students the chance to showcase their talents to a national audience and gain recognition for their achievements.
