Academic support (SEND)

Every student learns differently, and we’re committed to making sure that all students—regardless of their individual needs—have the support they need to succeed. We provide a range of academic support tailored to help students overcome barriers to learning and reach their full potential.

Personalised support

Students with special educational needs or disabilities (SEND) are supported through personalised strategies that are developed in collaboration with our experienced SEND team. These may include adjustments to teaching methods, access to assistive technology, or additional time and support in assessments. We work closely with students, parents, and external professionals to ensure that support is responsive and effective.

Transition and ongoing review

Support begins before students even start Sixth Form. We liaise with Year 11 teachers and SEND coordinators to ensure a smooth transition, and we continue to monitor progress throughout the year. Regular reviews help us adapt support as needed, so that students are always receiving the right level of help at the right time.

A collaborative approach

We believe that the best outcomes come from working together. Our Sixth Form team, subject teachers, and SEND specialists communicate regularly to ensure that support is consistent and well-integrated into everyday learning. Students are encouraged to take an active role in shaping their support, helping them develop the self-awareness and skills they’ll need for life beyond Sixth Form.
